My life as an artist began in Iran. I didn't always know I would be an artist. Like most kids, I liked to draw and paint. When I was in primary school I always got the lowest mark in painting because my teacher kept asking me "why are you making the sky red, green or orange?". I couldn't understand what her problem was with the colour of my sky. My mother kept saying to me that painting is the only subject where everyone gets the highest score, so what is wrong with you? That is my first memory of painting.
My paintings usually start with a colour idea, then evolve into composition in which colour is the primary subject.
To me, art is a synthesis of my personal feelings, the subject or colours that inspire me and my materials and collage techniques. I get my ideas from nature and transform them through my vision on to the canvas.
