The drawings are immersed in the pleasure and anxiety involved in positions of instability arising from diaspora experiences of sudden and dramatic change, displacement and the unpredictable. I consider them, and processes they are made through, as spaces for disobedience. Disobedience here is not solely understood as mischief, but more on the level of not accepting a current state of affairs and having an indeterminate position.
